Advising Small Business Start Ups and Larger Companies: Ethical Considerations

  Presented by:
Jess Bailey, Bailey Law Firm PLLC

The Texas Rules of Responsibility (and the ABA Model Rules) primarily address ethical issues that arise in or because of litigation. Attorneys who spend the majority of their time outside of a courtroom, however, also face ethical dilemmas. Unfortunately, when they look to the Rules for assistance, they must either analogize their ethical query to one described in a comment to a Rule – or settle for a Rule that applies only tangentially. This session of Just Ethics will alert attendees to what (and where) the ethical pitfalls may be lurking before they surprise the practitioner.

Accredited for 1.0 hour of participatory credit, including 1.0 hour of legal ethics.
