Biography
Adam Gershowitz joined the South Texas faculty in 2005, where he has taught Criminal Procedure, Texas Criminal Procedure, Texas Capital Punishment, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Property, and Deposition Skills.
Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Gershowitz was an associate with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., where he focused on white collar criminal matters and commercial litigation. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert B. King of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Professor Gershowitz earned his law degree from the University of Virginia, where he was inducted into the Order of Coif, won the Roger and Madeleine Traynor Prize for best paper by a graduating student, and served as the Articles Development Editor of the Virginia Law Review. He earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from the University of Delaware, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Professor Gershowitz has been awarded the Student Bar Association’s All Faculty Teaching Award (2008), All Faculty Advising Award (2007), and Best New Professor Award (2006).
Professor Gershowitz’s recent scholarship has appeared in the UCLA Law Review, U.C. Davis Law Review, Connecticut Law Review, Arizona State Law Journal, Missouri Law Review, Richmond Law Review, and Indiana Law Journal.
