SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT
South Texas College of Law seeks a Senior Vice President for Advancement to lead the consolidation and expansion of its advancement program and partner with its board and president in taking the college to the next level of institutional recognition, alumni engagement, and philanthropic support. Reporting to the President, the SVP for Advancement will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and help to realize a new strategic vision for the college.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished advancement leader with a clear record of success in fundraising and deep professional knowledge of best practice within all component elements of the advancement paradigm. S/he will most likely bring ten or more years of experience and success in mission-oriented advancement leadership and team management in a college, university, or major cultural organization, and will be a strong fundraiser who is comfortable working with lead volunteers, donors, faculty, and senior colleagues.
Beginning its ninth decade of service as an independent, nationally competitive, school of law, STCL’s approximately 1,200 students regularly take top honors nationally in moot court and legal writing competitions, supported by a highly regarded and committed faculty of 52 full-time and 46 adjunct professionals. Located in downtown Houston, the largest city in Texas and fourth largest in the U.S., the College’s engagement opportunities extend locally to one of the world’s most dynamic hubs of international commerce—focused on oil and gas energy, biomedical research, and aeronautics—and beyond to STCL’s 13,500 alumni representing all 50 states and 18 foreign countries.
