Rule 256. Change of Venue on Court’s Own Motion

TEXT

Whenever in any civil case pending in a district or county court, the trial judge shall find and certify of record that a trial, alike fair and impartial to the plaintiff and defendant, cannot from any cause be had in the county in which such suit is pending, he may on his own motion order a change of venue:

and thereupon transfer shall be effected in the manner provided for in Rule 261.
