Letter from the President

My Fellow Students,
Congratulations on your admission to South Texas College of Law! As the President of the Student Bar Association, I look forward to welcoming you to the South Texas community and introducing you to the vast amount of opportunities offered by our school.

As your President, I am committed to advocating for the student body in order to enhance your experience at South Texas. With the help of a diverse Board of Governors, our goal is to make each student here have his or her voice heard.

Each month, the Board of Governors meets to manage the affairs of the STCL student body, to discuss important issues within our school, and to provide a voice for over forty unique organizations on campus.

In addition, the Student Bar Association heads many events around campus. We coordinate networking events, host weekly social hours, monthly terrace parties, and organize several intramural games. In October, we put together an amazing Halloween Party, and at the end of the year, we host the annual Barristers Ball.

More importantly, the Student Bar Association organizes community service events throughout the year. This year marks the first Annual STCL’s Salute to Service benefiting the Lone Survivor Foundation and their efforts in offering wounded veterans the health, wellness, and therapeutic support they deserve. We also host an annual food drive benefiting the Houston Food Bank. In the past, we have been the largest single donor to this cause and this year we hope to break our record donation of $20,000 in cash and food donations.

I encourage all of you to get involved in activities on campus that spark your interests. By being involved, it will not only give you a clearer perspective of your future legal career, but it will truly enhance your experience in law school.
If you have any questions please email me at or call me at (713) 646-1741. You can also stop by the SBA office any time in Room 400 (across from Joe Green Auditorium). I look forward to meeting you all.

Adam P. Taylor

SBA President, 2014 – 2015
